Meng has over 20 years of yoga practice and 12 years of yoga instruction. She started because her doctor recommended the practice for better sleep. She learned by following VHS tapes and DVDs that featured instructors like Rodney Yee, Bryan Kest and Patricia Walden. She later discovered the joys of practicing within a studio community at Metrowest Yoga where she worked as a volunteer, yoga assistant and later on as a yoga instructor. She has since taught yoga at many various studio, college, and corporate settings to clients of all abilities and ages.
Meng has mainly studied under Theresa Murphy for both her 200 hour and 300 hour certifications as well as a variety of other specialized topics including yin yoga. She has also trained with Judith Lasater for restorative yoga and Tiffany Cruikshank for myofascial release. She has a continuous curiosity of using tools and props to help support clients in connecting awareness to their bodies.
She also comes with experience practicing and teaching Stott mat pilates and reformer, and with that an awareness for precise core alignment and breath. This style of pilates also is based in rehabilitation and restoring proper function of the core to support the whole body in movement.
Lastly, she has experience being a stretch therapist working with clients to help them gain greater range of motion and return to moving with less pain through assisted stretching. This modality helps people move in ways with less strain and is a wonderful form of recovery.
Meng is passionate about sharing the knowledge and wisdom of the practice through various lenses to best support the mental, emotional and physical wellness of the individual. She wants the client to feel safe, supported and able to connect deeply with themselves through yogic movement, breath and stillness. She can work with clients 1:1 to find the right modifications for their unique limitations or conditions and closely watch their form to ensure safety.
