What is a Lymphatic Massage:

Lymphatic Massage often called Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage (MLD) is a specialized manual therapy aimed to move congested fluid in the lymph system to working lymph vessels so the body can naturally remove excess fluid and toxins. The lymphatic system is responsible for filtering out harmful bacteria, viruses, cancerous cells and waste in our bodies. Our lymphatic system helps to keep us healthy. Lymphatic massage is excellent for clients with surgical recovery, lymph node removal, or illness.

How does lymphatic massage work?

The lymphatic system is a network of vessels that lie beneath the skin and are an important part of your immune system allowing your body to filter toxins and waste that do not support your system. In a healthy lymphatic system, lymph fluid is collected through lymph vessels and nodes to return the fluid to your heart. When there is an interruption in the system, fluid can dependently collect in your arms and legs leading to swelling and edema. This condition is called lymphedema.

How can we help?

When scheduling a lymphatic massage, your certified manual lymphatic drainage therapist will work to customize your treatment to your specific goals. The massage therapist will use gentle approached massage techniques to specific regions of the body to optimize movement of lymph fluid. Our clients report improved range of motion, faster healing time, decreased stiffness and reduced swelling with treatment.
